WISO Auditions

For Season 55 (2026–2027), WISO will hold auditions for string musicians only:
Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass.

Audition Date: October 11, 2026
Location: To be announced

What to Expect

WISO auditions are conducted blind, with a screen separating the musician from the audition panel. The panel consists of WISO principal musicians and Music Director Dr. Danh Pham.

Musicians interested in auditioning should complete the audition sign-up form below with their name, email address, and instrument. We will confirm your scheduled time and provide additional details prior to the audition via email.

Preparing for Your Audition

Audition packets for each instrument are available for download below. Musicians are responsible for preparing the excerpts included in the packet.

During the audition, you may be asked to perform all or only a portion of the prepared excerpts. You may also be asked to sight-read a selection provided at the audition.

After Your Audition

Following the auditions, each musician will receive an email from the Music Director with the results. Auditionees may:

• Be invited to join the Washington Idaho Symphony Orchestra as a rostered musician;

• Be added to WISO's substitute musician list; or

• Be notified that we are unable to offer a position at this time.

We appreciate every musician who takes the time to prepare and audition for WISO and look forward to hearing you.
