About the
Washington Idaho Symphony
For more than 50 years, the Washington Idaho Symphony has brought live orchestral music to communities across the Palouse and Lewis–Clark Valley. We serve audiences of all ages in Whitman and Asotin counties in Washington and Latah and Nez Perce counties in Idaho — one of the few regions in the country where a professional orchestra is woven into the fabric of rural community life.
Our orchestra is made up of roughly 60 professional musicians drawn from the Quad Cities area, many of them faculty, students, and alumni of the University of Idaho and Washington State University. That local connection is central to who we are: these are your neighbors, colleagues, and friends — dedicated artists who bring technical excellence and genuine passion to every performance.

The Washington Idaho Symphony envisions a region where live orchestral music is an essential and celebrated part of community life—accessible to all, inspiring to many, and rooted in artistic excellence. We strive to be a cultural cornerstone for the Palouse and Lewis–Clark Valley, nurturing musical talent, enriching lives through performance and education, and building bridges between generations, communities, and the arts.
